This exciting dance festival, now in its seventh edition, is a celebration of rhythm in dance. Featured are Dharma Swara, a prominent Balinese gamelan and dance group in the US, exhibiting the dynamic and expressive dances of Bali, Indonesia; the Trinayan Dance Collective, dedicated to creating, exploring and reflecting evocative interpretations of the ancient Indian Odissi dance; Jin Won, a commanding dancer acclaimed for her “mastery over rhythm” (New York Times), presenting classical Kathak dance of northern India; and Flamenco y Sol performing soulful and passionate flamenco led by Sol “La Argentinita,” a leading flamenco dancer in New York. Live musical accompaniment will be provided for Kathak, Balinese and flamenco dance. The program will also include an artist Q+A and audience participation.
